Yesterday was a special day and we started with the disgorging of the long-awaited Siós Brut Rosé 2021 that you will soon be able to enjoy. So we take the opportunity to briefly explain to you what the process of disgorging sparkling wines in our winery consists of.
What is the disgorging of sparkling wine?
It is called disgorging at the stage where the yeasts concentrated in the neck of the bottle are removed. After the stirring operation and with the bottles tipped, the yeast deposits are concentrated in the neck of the bottle, occupying a space approximately 1-2 cm high.
Using a special machine, we freeze the neck of the bottle to obtain a block of ice with the concentrated yeasts. We then put the bottle vertically and uncork it. The bottle's own internal pressure expels the block of ice so that the wine remains clean and crystal clear.
Siós Brut Rosé is a quality rosé sparkling wine with Pinot Noir blend. The whole process of making this wine is meticulously taken care of, from the choice of color to the artisan labelling. Each bottle is unique and special.
We hope you like the video we share with you.
Cheers and wine!
