If a few days ago we showed you the inflorescences of the strains in our social networks, today we bring you the images and a little explanation about the flowering of the vine that is the stage that we are currently living on our estate. This moment is very delicate and crucial for the development of the vine in order to achieve the desired production as well as the effect on the health status of the fruit. In short, it is a decisive moment that will directly influence the production and quality of the wines of this vintage and that is why all our senses are now, more than ever, in the care and vigilance of the state of the vineyards.

Flowering of the vine

The flowering of the vine is the moment in which the inflorescences are opened giving rise to the flowers that will later be grapes. It should be said that not all flowers will curdle and become grapes. The rate of yield we obtain will depend on several factors such as:

- Climatic conditions during flowering (temperature, humidity ...)

- Aerated the clusters

- Cluster exposure to weather conditions (sunlight ...)

For example, the Grenache variety is greatly affected by humidity, so if flowering days have a lot of humidity it is possible that the curdle rate is compromised, botrytis * in the flower or lack of pollen ... .

Influence on the curved
Depending on the climatological conditions and the result that we want to obtain, we can influence the rate of curd because since it was very high the clusters that would be obtained would be too compact and the smallest fruits. To avoid this you can choose to generate strain on the strain by cleaning basal leaves (4 to 8 leaves). In this way the curdle is reduced and the clusters will not be so compact. On the other hand, this cleaning also favors a better aeration of the cluster and a greater exposure to sunlight.

Prevent diseases in the vineyard
Since the plant will suffer injuries due to the fall of the cap and the petals, these wounds will be an entry point for several diseases that can seriously affect the future fruit. This is why it is necessary, now more than ever, to closely monitor the vineyards and to carry out the necessary treatments both to cure these wounds and to prevent diseases of the vineyard.

(*) The botrytis of the vine is a fungus that can attack the green shoots of the strain. You can also attack the grapes and deteriorate their quality so we do our best to avoid its appearance.
